Tomorrow's Night of Lights Featured on Channel 13 Action News KTNV Las Vegas

Our CEO Christine Spadafor was featured on KTNV Channel 13 Action News in Las Vegas yesterday discussing tomorrow night's Night of Lights in Boulder City, NV.  It's our biggest event of the year and this year Santa is arriving via a 'special' Secret Service motorcade (yes!  the real Secret Service!).

CORRECTION:  In an earlier post, we mentioned Santa would be arriving to the Night of Lights via a "special" Secret Service motorcade with full security detail at 6 pm both nights.  Please note he will only be arriving via motorcade on Friday, December 4th, 2009.

SANTA WILL BE HERE BOTH NIGHTS - he just won't be arriving via Secret Service motorcade on Saturday.

Listen to SJRC CEO Christine Spadafor on Champions of Justice Radio Show

If you saw our earlier post regarding our CEO Christine Spadafor and her interview on the weekly radio program "Champions of Justice" than you know she recently spent one full hour talking just about our kids, our programs and our plans going forward - it was a terrific interview!

If you missed it when it was aired, we now have it on our website in our newsroom.  Scroll down to the "Audio" portion (or click on the "Audio" button at the top of the page) and click on the corresponding link to hear this terrific show.

The weekly radio program is hosted by Attorney Tom Girardi, a nationally known trial attorney.  His colleague Amy Solomon joined us for the discussion.  The program has a broad audience, including many attorneys and has featured legal experts such as justices of the California Supreme Court, Governor Arnold Schwartzenegger, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomyor, and now St. Jude’s Ranch!  Happy listening!

This Just In!! Santa to Arrive to Night of Lights Via "Special" Secret Service Motorcade!

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children’s annual Night of Lights event on our Boulder City Campus is just days away and more details are now confirmed. 

Each evening kicks off with Santa Claus arriving via a special Secret Service motorcade with full security detail at 6 pm December 4th and 5th, 2009 followed by a variety of entertainment and fun for the entire family.

 

The free event is open to the public and gives many of the children on campus a true holiday experience complete with all of the decorations, entertainment, fun, family and friends.  The event also serves as a fundraiser where guests are invited to donate for photos with Santa, hay rides, s’mores and enjoy hot chocolate, cider and chili.

Bring the whole family!  Tour the campus adorned with holiday lights and decorations, and enjoy live music on the main stage from Audrei-Kairen, Rachele Marie, Susan Beaubian, Andrew Scott, Wallace Broadnax and Joyce Simpson.  Additional performers include Durango High School acoustic musicians who will be playing by the Smores pits and the Central Christian Church teen dance group who will perform nightly.

Stroll through the Gift Shop and Car Museum and participate in the Silent Auction featuring some very exciting items including a platinum and diamond pendent, a trip for two to Russian River Vineyards in Sonoma county, complete with airfare, hotel, dinner, wine pairing and tasting instruction with the Vineyard’s wine maker and nights out on the town in Las Vegas with show tickets, dinners, etc. along with many other exciting packages.

Team SJR to run for 2nd time in Las Vegas Marathon!!

Dear Friends,

As many of you know, my husband Brett has been involved with St. Jude’s Ranch for Children by serving on the local board and supporting their efforts and helping to bring more awareness to the organization.

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children serves abused, abandoned and neglected children and families, creating new chances, new choices and new hope in a safe homelike environment. For over forty years St. Jude’s Ranch for Children has been serving children at its Boulder City, Nevada campus. Currently, nearly fifty children live on campus and with these difficult economic times, your help is needed more that ever.

On Sunday, December 6, 2009 I plan to continue the support and effort I began last year by forming a team of running enthusiasts to take part in the Las Vegas, Rock ‘N Roll Marathon and run on behalf of St. Jude’s Ranch for Children!

Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell Run...

CALLING ALL RUNNERS!!
The 17th Annual Jingle Bell Run hosted by the New Braunfels Running Club and benefiting St. Jude's Ranch for Children gets underway Saturday, December 12, 2009. Last year's run featured over 900 runners so you won't want to miss this one!!

The adult race starts at 9 a.m. and the children's race starts at 9:45 a.m.  Both races start and finish in the park and will be followed by a post-race party.  There are five age groups with awards given to the top three finishers in each age group.  There are also awards for overall and masters overall for both men and women.  T-shirts guaranteed to all early registrants.
